Ruth Anne Godfrey is a clarinet, bass clarinet and baritone saxophonist based in the Netherlands but originally from the UK.

In 2007 she graduated from Leeds College of Music with a BA (Hons) in Jazz studies and received the Red Prince prize for her final performance.

Between 2007 and 2009 she performed all over the UK with a number of different projects, such as the Sleaze Orchestra, LIMA, Swinepipe and York Guildhall Orchestra, as well as teaching clarinet and saxophone. She also took lesson off the Opera North clarinettist John Robinson, Indian Sitarist Dharambir Singh and Hindustani saxophonist Jesse Bannister.

In 2009 Ruth Anne crossed the North Sea to study at Rotterdam Conservatoire (CODARTS) and in 2011 finished her Masters of Music in World music specialising in improvisation and composition. Here she took lessons with the renowned bass clarinettist Henri Bok and bansuri player Henri Tournier. As well as extra lessons in Turkish, Brazilian and Balkan Music.

Now she is performing all over the Netherlands with a number of different 'World Music' ensembles and teaching for two International schools.
